Great place to walk around and learn what it was like to work around coal and to see the old buildings. The park is very close to my house to were I can walk to it,but for other people that live far away there is a parking lot to use, and I wish people would use the parking lots instead of in front of people's houses
Simple, cozy area for walking nestled in a rather populated area so it's close and easy to get to. Great for a jog or walk with the family. Sights include ducks, turtles, and old mining ruins. I've seen people fish in the lake but no swimming or boating. Don't expect any facilities or playground equipment. Try to find the old hidden cemetery or RVA rocks for fun.
Coal mine ruins are cool but otherwise a fairly boring park. One long trail end to end, about a 10 minute casual bike ride or 20 minute walk. Fine to kill an hour or less.
Great suburban park. Level and wide walking trails offer easy access. Park is quite close to a fairly busy road and surrounded on all sides by subdivisions though.
This place is quiet and peaceful. Walking, listening to my favorite tunes, and enjoying God's beautiful creation: nature! Nothing better!!
